Mesnier School Expectations

Big picture

At Mesnier we use the Comprehensive, Integrated Three-Tiered (Ci3T) model as our framework to promote and maximize academic, behavioral and social development. It is a school-wide strategy for helping all students achieve important social and learning goals. We know that when good behavior and good teaching come together, our students will excel in learning.

As part of the Ci3T framework, we have established clear rules for the behaviors we expect in all areas of our school. Students were taught these expectations last week as part of our leadership training. Our staff will verbally acknowledge students’ appropriate behaviors by giving them a Cougar Paw Ticket. Students are given an opportunity weekly to turn in these tickets for classroom rewards.

The expectations for all student behaviors will be clear throughout our classrooms, playground, lunchroom, gym, bathrooms, and hallways. Our expectations will provide a school environment where more time is spent instructing and less time spent disciplining. By teaching the expected behaviors in a positive way, we are providing a common language for everyone in our building, including students, teachers, and staff. We believe that by helping students practice good behavior, we will build a school community where all students can learn.

The St. Louis Cardinals are proud to partner with Mesnier to bring Fredbird & Friends Elementary School Program to our school on Wednesday, September 5th!

In partnership with FOX Sports Midwest, we will help the school community think about the question, “What makes a good teammate?” A member of the Cardinals organization will accompany our beloved Fredbird to your school’s assembly to promote the program’s key messages: Be Active! Be Responsible! and Be Yourself!

Fredbird & Friends was designed to be a fun, interactive way for students to better understand how they can be successful at school, at home, and in life.

This includes:

  • Being physically active and participating in extracurricular activities and clubs;
  • Valuing what makes them unique as well as the contributions of others;
  • Working together with peers, teachers, and family members; and seeking out help from the adults in their lives who can help them achieve their goals.
