We have already started the planning and preparation process for the 2018-2019 school year.  Unfortunately, we will be saying farewell to several of our staff members at the end of the school year, who will be moving onto new experiences.  We would like to thank them all for their dedication and commitment to our students during their time at Mesnier. Ms. Nomensen, our assistant principal, accepted a middle school assistant principal position for next school year.  Mrs. Sparrow, one of our counselors, will be relocating with her husband for his career and will no longer be living in the St. Louis area. Mrs. Jennifer Walburn, second grade teacher, will be retiring at the end of the school year after teaching her entire career at Mesnier.  Mrs. Sherry Timmons, instructional staff assistant, will also be retiring at the end of the year. Mrs. Cheryl McGinnis, kindergarten teacher, will be staying home next year on long-term childcare leave. Mrs. Claire Pryzgoda, secretary to the assistant principal, will be the secretary to the superintendent next year. Replacing such teachers and staff members will be challenging, but our focus will continue to be recruiting and hiring talented staff members who are passionate about supporting our students. On behalf of the Mesnier staff and school community, I wish all of them the very best in their future endeavors.

We will be partnering with School Tool Box for school supplies for the upcoming school year.  School supply kits can be ordered online from May 7th-June 17th. The online ordering information is listed below.

Kindergartners enjoyed a picnic with their friends and family last week.

Our school attendance goal at Mesnier is for at least 90% of the students to have 90% attendance for the year. In order to ensure we meet our school goal, we will be focusing on weekly attendance from now until the end of the school year. Grade levels that have 97% attendance for the week will celebrate with a popsicle at recess on Friday.

This month we will focus on demonstrating Habit #1: Be Proactive.  We encourage you to discuss this habit at home.

Our #afftonstrong Community Day of Service is fast approaching on Friday, May 11. Some of our teachers need help with supplies for their class projects. Please check the list and sign up, if you're able:
